WoW Talent Guide
Once you have reached level 10 in World of Warcraft a new aspect of the game opens up – talents.
From this point forward, every time you achieve a new level you are given a talent point to spend. This simple WoW talent guide should help you work out your choice of how to use your points.
These points can be used in your talent tree to “spec” your character and further personalize them. As an example, druids can choose to use their points under the feral, balance, or restoration tree.
Adding points to feral will improve damage and provide new skills in their beast forms, balance improves their offensive spells, and restoration improves their healing.
Talent points can be saved and added in all at once, or they can be placed in as you earn them.
All classes have a choice of three talent trees to add talent points to. The variations of placement are endless. You can place all of the talents in one tree, or spread them out. Keep in mind that where you place your talents will often define your role in the game – a holy priest will be a main healer while a shadow priest will provide damage.
However, once you reach level 40, you have the option to pay 1000 gold to learn the dual specialization. Doing so allows you to create two separate talent trees, action bars, and glyphs so you can switch back and forth. A WoW talent guide will help you fine tune the choices for your character.
Building your talent tree
It should be clear that despite what any WoW talent guide will tell you, there is no perfect layout for your talents. The way that you choose to spend your talents is totally dependent on where your personal strengths are and how you want to play the game.
One suggestion is to take a look at WoW’s talent calculators. These allow you to play around with your talent points before you save them to your player. Once added, talents can be changed, but there is an increasing cost of gold to do so.
WoW talent guide to the different classes
Talent trees are specific to each class, and remain consistent from race to race. So a dwarf rogue and a human rogue have the same talent trees, as do a night elf priest and an undead priest. Here is a brief look at the talent tree break downs:
• Death knight
o Blood – focuses on physical damage with a high self-healing rate.
o Frost – focuses on controlling the elements, with a strong bonus damage rate.
o Unholy – focuses on diseases and improving summoned minions.
o Balance – enhances spell damage
o Feral Combat – improves damage per second and tanking abilities in cat and bear forms
o Restoration – improves their healing
o Beast mastery – improves the ability of their pets
o Marksmanship – allows the hunter to do most of the damage themselves
o Survival – allows the hunter to utilize traps and stuns
o Arcane – allows for strong bursts of damage per second
o Fire – improves overall damage per second
o Frost – improves crowd control
o Holy – improves healing and holy damage spells
o Protection – allows the paladin to tank by taking more damage
o Retribution – allows for more damage per second
o Discipline – improves the mana threshold, helping all spells
o Holy – improves healing
o Shadow – improves damage per second
o Assassination – deal more damage from behind
o Combat – has both offensive and defensive abilities
o Subtlety – improves subtle moves to catch enemies off guard
o Elemental – improves their casting damage per second
o Enhancement – deals more physical damage
o Restoration – provides more healing power
o Affliction – improves the damage over time spells and curses
o Demonology – improves the use of summoned demons
o Destruction – improves direct damage spells
o Arms – provides more PVP strength
o Fury – provides higher damage
o Protection – allows the warrior to take more damage.
